ABOUT US

Your Hosts

Your hosts are Giles originally from Yorkshire and his Dutch wife Miranda. They both have been living in Coín since the late 90's and have set up a successful horse riding holiday centre, HorseRidingSpain. You will be staying in this same centre and Giles and Miranda live on the property.

Both Miranda and Giles are passionate about this area of Spain and of course their horses and other animals and they are on hand to help you with any activities you would like to undertake. They know the surrounding countryside very well as it is their 'office'.

You will be sharing the general space with riding holiday guests, but there are never more than six riders in any given week, so don't expect big groups. Guests staying here are nature and animal lovers, who also enjoy exploring 'the real Spain' with its rich local history and culture and welcoming people.

We have five spacious rooms of approx. 30-35 m2 on site here, as well as a large deluxe self catering apartment (150 m2) for 4-6 persons - see the reservations page for more information. You can enjoy your breakfast, drinks and other meals on our private terrace overlooking the pool and exotic garden (supplementary charge - please enquire).

We want to offer you a comfortable home away from home and our guests frequently comment on how relaxed and at ease they feel here !

Coín

Coín is a bustily, typically Andalusian inland town with a rich history going back to the Phoenician times. More recognisable will be its Roman and Moorish history, clearly visible in its local monuments.

Plenty of shops, bars and small restaurants can be found in the town centre. You can enjoy a drink and tapas on any of the pretty squares and all within a few minutes walk from the Molino.

Coín is also well known as the agricultural centre of the "Guadalhorce Valley", mainly for citrus fruits but nowadays also for more tropical fruits like avocado and mango. When exploring the countryside, you will come across a big variety of local produce.

Coín is also the home of multiple artists, especially ceramic artists  still working right here in the town. One of the more well known artists Coín boasts is Pedro Rodriguez "El Pedrín", famous far beyond the Spanish borders for his bull sculptures.

The town has excellent connections with the coastal area as well as inland Andalusia and this is a great starting point for further exploration.

Our property is located well in the heart of Andalusia with good connections for great activities and amazing sights. We have private parking in front of our property.  The bus stop is a few minutes walk up the track with good connections to Málaga (with further connections to e.g. Córdoba and Granada) and Marbella, as well as Mijas and Fuengirola.  For further exploration of the area with recommend that you rent a car.
